Welcome to Good Deeds Sailing Sailing around the world doing good deeds! :) We are Lee, a maintenance engineer, and Kara (Karolina) a dental hygienist, and together with our cat PJ we plan to fulfill our dream of sailing around the world doing charity work as and where we can. First we have to refit our cheap sailboat, a 1976 31ft Westerly Berwick ready to travel across to France, through the French canals and into the Mediterranean sea. Here we plan to gain more sailing experience and source a larger sail boat to carry our tools and equipment. Although novices at boat renovation and refits we are sharing as much of the refit and engine installation and tips as we can, before setting out on our new minimalistic but hopefully fulfilling life. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we sold everything we owned and saved money for 1,5 years while living aboard our 40-foot custom built aluminium sailboat. Then we untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter in January 2016. After sailing half way around the world, we welcomed our daughter in the end of 2019 and bought a bigger boat (Najad 440) that we're now cruising on as a family. After a trip to South Africa to visit close relatives, we met a guy called Darryl.. he was a sailor who had started his sailing adventure back in the 1980's buying his first boat at the age of 28, he told us some awe inspiring stories that literally captured James' heart and mind! He was hooked....line and sinker... With barely any experience between the two of us, we bought a Bavaria C57, ''a bit like my flat in London'' is what I said. With that, the deal was done and there was no turning back. Living On A Boat In Florida for over 2 years we have decided that a longer-range vessel (we've been living aboard our 1985 Jefferson trawler) was required for circumnavigation. With quarantine, we accelerated our 5 year plans off grid living into months. We have began selling all our things and preparing to travel around the globe. That's when we also started our travel vlog as well.

We are a couple of newbies learning how to sail as we go aboard our 36ft catamaran, Auriga. The one thing we love more than partying is swimming and fishing. Okay that was two things... I found my boat, a Cal 39, in 2021 and set out on this journey to follow my father's love of the open ocean and hopefully get to see places he explored 60 years earlier while working for Safmarine. Rui and I met while we were in Rio Dulce together, and he came to help out on my boat while it was out of the water. Maybe I was a damsel in distress and he was my knight in shining armor. But here we are after many miles of sea traveling together on our respective boats, eventually joining together on mine. It's much nicer to share this life with someone. And I was lucky to find a good salt out there on the sea :)

When locked down in Cape Town South Africa we had the spare time to start putting together some videos that we wanted to share with our family and friends. Cruising the world and life onboard, is pretty difficult to describe to people verbally. Making videos about this lifestyle help them understand why we love it. This was the beginning of our sailing channel. The early footage was never intended to entertain, or enlighten, so the early vids are a bit of a patchwork. We started our journey on the 27 of March 2018, our idea was to have a YouTube channel to inspire and encourage people to do exactly the same we are doing. A lot of people has doubts about this life style at our age. So on May 2018 we launched our first episode. Not being use to having a camera in front of us, most of the time made those first episodes a little awkward, if we watch them nowadays. But the feedback from all of you was something we were not expecting at all. The messages, the emails, the comments on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube were absolutely amazing. At that moment we made a promise to ourselves, we said we would reply to all these lovely people that had spent a few minutes of their lives to follow us and write to us. Heya, we’re Cozzy & Mitcho We bought Ocean Lady 2 years ago from a lovely ol sailing soul in Mandurah, we kind of stumbled on her and it’s a story that still makes us pinch ourselves. It was a serendipitous conversation that led us to own Ocean Lady for which we feel so blessed. On our way back to the car from a "Happy Hour" at a Marina pub in Mandurah we noticed a guy locking up the Marina and couldn’t resist striking up a convo with him. When we told him we're want to buy a catamaran, he mentioned “there’s a guy that’s had his cat penned here for 20 years that mentioned he wanted to sell". So, after a test sail, survey, and a ridiculously small amount of money, we sailed Ocean Lady from Mandurah to Mindarie Marina where she is now penned. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know our Ocean Lady so let’s Sail Ocean Life together -welcome aboard.

I had meningitis and survived, I had an epiphany! I decided I would learn to sail, buy a catamaran and sail the world... and here we are, making it happen! We're Jordan and Desiree! Our newest crew member is Captain Oso. We spent 6 years restoring and sailing on our 30 foot sailboat, "Atticus I". We made it as far as Panama, when we decided to upgrade to "Atticus II", our larger, more reliable family sailboat. We are now heading towards the Mediterranean to start our sailboat family!

Me and Andy have 2 girls and 1dog who love spending time outside and having adventures. We bought our boat back in September 2017 from Scotland. From then we were hooked and set out a plan to take a year out with our family while the girls were young. Andy already has a wealth of experience and qualifications with sailing and I just love new adventures and get bored in one place…put those 2 things together and here we are. I then done my theory sailing courses through Orcel Navigation and the sailing miles in Scotland, we felt more confident being able to take on the trip. Fast forward to 2022 after setbacks and a whole load of preparation, we finally set sail from North Shields to go down to the east coast of England and into the med. The ocean has been good to us. We met while surfing, and ever since, we’ve never been far from it - or each other. My name is Denham and I'm from Sydney's northern beaches, Mari is from Rio de Janeiro. Neither of us had any sailing experience until 2017. We did an introductory sailing course and never looked back. We bought a 1988 Northshore 46 called “Latitude”, which we refitted in between our day jobs, slowly getting her ready for the deep blue. In 2019 we had our first big sailing trip departing Sydney to Lord Howe Island then New Caledonia and Vanuatu, returning to Gold Coast about 6 months later. It was amazing and we were left wanting more. In early 2020 with Mari pregnant and an eye in the future we sold Latitude and bought our catamaran which we named Rio. Our goal is to Sail, surf and enjoy the sunshine. Whenever we can, wherever the winds takes us. This is the story of a small, capable sailboat named Seawind and her crew of two, Katy and Parker. Parker bought Seawind in 2016 with his entire savings and no clue what it would take to turn her into what she is today. Parker slowly tackled project after project, transforming this old boat into what he envisioned when they first met with the help of his dad and a few friends. Parker met Katy halfway through the five and a half year refit and have been inseparable ever since. Together, they have come a long way. They have learned the beautiful and brutal lessons that the water has to offer. They have come to know heartache and loss and to dance despite it all. Katy works a full-time job on the go, and Parker is creating and keeping the boat afloat, which presents its own unique challenges and opportunities. But at the end of the day, it's the desire to move slowly and live fully that makes it all worth it.
